Thankful for our Somerset County IL Youth!
A note from Director Laura Daumit I hope this Tuesday afternoon finds you all well. Matt (Kurowsky) and I had the pleasure of joining in on the Somerset IL Thanksgiving meal. The IL Team knocked this out of the park. Carissa Shipley and the IL teens prepped a homemade Thanksgiving dinner, down to the salad dressing, a recipe from Carissa's grandmother. Thankful for our Schuylkill County staff: Ashley Hullihan!
Schuylkill County Family Resource Specialist, Ashley Hullihan, works part-time for a daycare facility, Adventure Academy. Every year at this time, the daycare families and staff develop a donation plan. This year, they decided to raise money for Thanksgiving meals for our JusticeWorks families in need. So far, they have raised enough money to feed 20 families! Ashley and other Schuylkill staff will be receiving the donations, filling the shopping orders, and putting the meals together. Jefferson County Spreads Holiday Cheer!
Our JusticeWorks Jefferson County team has partnered with the Tri-County Church (TCC) members to coordinate gift-giving for children in need. The Jefferson County team submitted gift requests for forty local children! JusticeWorks staff will be delivering the gifts to the families before December 25 to surprise the children on Christmas morning. JusticeWorks Erie Team attends the Erie County Career Fair at the Millcreek Mall
The JusticeWorks Erie Team attended the Erie County Career Fair at the Millcreek Mall. Numerous interested individuals stopped by our booth to learn about ways to support the youth and families in our community. Erie Family Resource Specialist Cynthia (Cindy) Dorsey was present, and she shared with prospective employees her professional experience with JusticeWorks. Cindy was able to identify a few candidates who have the right passion and skill set to be successful in our field, and who would be a good fit for our team. Fingers crossed!
