Finding Permanence in Adams County!
When William* was just twelve years old, his mother passed from an unknown medical condition. For the past two years, William lived with his father and his new stepmother. It was reported that William ran away from home after a physical altercation with his father. JWYC ADAMS COUNTY GIVES TO ANIMALS IN NEED “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” - Mahatma Gandhi. Every holiday season, the JWYC staff of Adams County participate in a Secret Santa for gift-giving. However, for this holiday season, our staff decided to do something different! They wanted to make the holidays better for the vulnerable animals without families, so they donated the money to the Adams County SPCA in Gettysburg. Achieving Excellence through Talent!
Once again, the efficacy of JusticeWorks’ community-based services have been proven to support our youth and families. Although the pandemic has been wrought with challenges, the employees of JusticeWorks have risen to the occasion to provide quality services that keep youth in the homes and families together! The first quarter of our fiscal year showed that families referred from child welfare agencies achieved a placement prevention rate of 95% (such as the need for foster care or group homes). Youth referred from juvenile justice agencies achieved a placement prevention rate of 88%. ...
