Zachary Sloan
Educational Director Compass Lycoming
Zach graduated from Mercyhurst University in 2015 with B.A. in History and began working with the Local Intermediate Unit as a paraprofessional in the Learning and Emotional Support classrooms. He transitioned from this position to a Building Based Substitute with the Intermediate Unit in their AEDY Program. Zach returned to Mercyhurst University and earned his Masters of Science in Secondary Education: Pedagogy and Practice and Pennsylvania Teaching Certification. In September 2018 Zach was hired as a Part Time Teacher and Family Resource Specialist with Justice Works, as well as worked as a Therapeutic Support Staff member at a local elementary school. In 2019, Zach became a Full Time Teacher at our Compass Academy and was responsible for teaching Algebra I and II, Geometry, Career Math, and Economics. Zach has been a member of the National Council of the Studies since 2018.
