Gina is a tenured staff with JusticeWorks BehavioralCare (JWBC). She has held key roles such as Behavioral Interventionist, Family Group Coordinator, Program Supervisor, and Regional Program Director. Gina’s leadership and dedication have been integral to the success of our programs and the families we serve.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with an emphasis on Clinical and Community Health from Webster University.

Before earning her M.A., Gina served five years as a Lead Billing Specialist at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), providing vital support to underserved rural communities where Medicaid was the primary payer source. Her journey into health education began in 2013 as a Health Educator for the SBIRT initiative through SAMHSA/DAODAS. In this role, she worked within FQHCs, collaborating with medical staff to screen and educate patients on the intersection of medical conditions and substance/alcohol use. Gina also received extensive training in evidence-based Motivational Interviewing techniques during this time.

In 2017, Gina partnered with the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS), facilitating family treatment team meetings and family group conferences to prevent children from entering foster care. By 2018, she expanded her impact by simultaneously working as a Crisis Field Worker with CCRI, responding to psychiatric crises in Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg counties.

Her experience deepened further with her pivotal work in acute inpatient settings. In 2020, she became an Admissions Acute Therapist, and in 2021, she transitioned to Adolescent Acute Inpatient Therapist. Here, Gina collaborated closely with psychiatrists and nurses in a fast-paced crisis stabilization environment, demonstrating her ability to thrive in challenging, high-stakes settings.
