Mom and two children under the age of 10 were homeless and wandering from friend to friend. Mom had experienced a nomadic childhood and was repeating the same pattern with her children. Lehigh STOPP® worked with mom to complete paperwork for welfare and help with job hunting.
During the assessment process it was determined that the father of the youngest child was willing to take the family in and provide a home. Lehigh staff drove the family to the home in Berks County in the early hours of the morning. Berks and Lehigh staff coordinated to assess the home and set goals that will insure long term stability for the family. Berks staff takes over while Lehigh County continues to fund STOPP®.
Thank you to Erica Weaver, Berks JusticeWorks and Karen Votta, Lehigh JusticeWorks for doing whatever it takes to achieve a positive outcome!
