We are excited to announce that Elk County has joined in partnership with the JusticeWorks family of services. Director Danielle (Dani) Haines and Supervisor, Nicholas Gaio met with Elk County Children and Youth, presented our programs and services, and provided insight into the collaboration between the organizations. As of 10/26/21, we will be providing Nurturing Parenting and Nurturing Parenting Substance Abuse services. We also plan to expand our SWAN services to support the needs of Elk County.
Elk County certainly lives up to its name. The town of Benezette is the heart of Pennsylvania’s wild elk herd, now numbering nearly 1,400 majestic animals. Paddlers and fishermen will love the Wild & Scenic Clarion River. Hikers can explore the Quehanna Wild Area and a swinging bridge on the Clarion/Little Toby Trail. Straub Brewery has been handcrafting beer in its original location in St. Marys since 1872 making it the third oldest brewery in the country. Ridgway’s “Lily of the Valley” National Historic Register District features stunning mansions and homes, and “Millionaires Row”. (ElkCountyVisitorCenter.com)
