Today America celebrates 245 years of Independence.
America has a long and storied history and more than anything is known and respected for the continued effort to make “a more perfect union”. There are undoubtedly parts of our history which tarnish the founding principle that “all men are created equal”, but it is to the country’s enduring credit that they have been acknowledged and work continues to build a just and equitable community filled with opportunity for all.
America endures as a set of aspirational principles and philosophies which make it a “shining city on the hill.” Let US of the U.S. celebrate our founding by rededicating ourselves as “one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” Fireworks are icing on the cake!
