Colten Zimmerman (Left) & his co-worker

At the beginning of April, Kaitlyn Myers and Lindsey Jones had a zoom meeting with the owners of McNaughton Moving and Storage Co., Luke and Thom Shively in Indiana who is passionate about helping older youth in foster care. He

offered many ideas on how his business could assist JusticeWorks in providing employment to our Independent Living (IL) youth. Since this meeting, 4 months ago, 7 of our youths obtained employment with him!

Last week, one of our youths shared a letter he received from one of his customers, giving him positive feedback. This letter praised the youth, stating that he was hardworking, diligent, and that his demeanor was very professional. This letter also mentioned the youth’s excellent attendance record! With all the positive accolades, the youth was offered an opportunity to become foreman or contractor in the future. When the time comes, McNaughton’s will provide the youth with paid training towards attaining a commercial driver’s license and then will employ him as a company driver.

Thank you to Kaitlyn Myers for coordinating and building this wonderful relationship with McNaughton Moving and Storage Co.  It is an opportunity that would not have happened without Kaitlyn’s hard work and dedication. She is focused on helping our youth gain employment by assisting with applications, creating resumes, and preparing them for interviews. She’s always mentoring and supporting our youth, pointing them in the right direction! We’re so excited about this community connection and the opportunities for our youth. We look forward to establishing more!
