The end of the 2016-2017 school year has arrived, and Compass Academy Lycoming was able to celebrate our second annual end-of-year open house on June 1! Numerous partners from surrounding counties were in attendance including Lycoming County Commissioner Tony Mussare, Lycoming County Judge Gray along with Hearing Masters Dana Jacques and Diane Turner, several representatives from Lycoming College including Lori Lyons and Dr. Kerry Richmond, Williamsport YMCA Director Darnell Hayes, Lycoming County Juvenile Probation Chief Ed Robbins and more!
Parents, relatives, and friends were also present to celebrate the accomplishments of the children and enjoy food and refreshments, along with tours of the facility and in-person interactions with the teachers. JusticeWorks President and CEO, Daniel Heit (right) provided an inspirational speech to our students, families, and partners as our keynote speaker for the ceremony. An award ceremony was held to honor students who achieved the following accomplishments – Student of the Year, 95% Attendance Award, Most Improved Student, and the Community Service Award. One of the students receiving an award was able to speak on the progress he has made within Compass Academy Lycoming, as this student has completed the program and will be transitioning back to his home school. The open house was capped off with a speech from a passionate parent who has worked closely with Compass Academy Lycoming staff to provide excellent support in order to maximize the success of their child! We are grateful for the efforts of our team, county partners, and parents to achieve an outstanding 2016-2017 school year for our students!
