A note from a Delaware County Juvenile Probation Officer (Anne Cappelli) to our Delaware County program supervisor.
(Anne Cappelli) I was just going over some of his reports for inspiration and was reading one about a boy that keeps instigating him to fight: to paraphrase, Peter ignores this peer, he is no longer interested in fighting, no longer sees any benefits to fighting, he used to take pride in being able to “beat people up” and prove to his peers that he is tough but his thinking in this area has changed. Peter no longer wants to hurt others and no longer feels the need to prove to others how tough he is.
But on a serious note, it is such a blessing that he has come to this point. From the inside out – so to speak! For a young man his age and with his background this is nothing short of miraculous!
You (Frank Maurer) have made such an amazing change in this boy’s life!
In the past, because of his strength he could always be sure to be able to take care of himself.
But in this crazy world we live in today, any potential opponent will most likely be whacked out on drugs and armed!
It is a cool head, good sense and wisdom Peter will need to rely on and you have taught him that. GOOD JOB FRANK!
Thank you Anne for the inspirational note! Frank, we appreciate you assisting youth in developing the courage to change, and teaching what true strength looks like!
