Over the past few years, evidence & research-based practices and continuous qualiy improvement have been hot topics in social services. JusticeWorks has been a forerunner in having always been an outcomes driven organization. We have realized though that the playing field has gotten more sophisticated and more is expected. We felt it was imperative to enhance our data collection efforts and make sure our services were being faithful to their models and achieving positive outcomes.
Fortunately, we had a Regional Director, Marc Maddy, who had the expertise to assist us in maintaining and growing our evaluation capability. For some time, Marc did double duty but we reached a point where we felt the Evaluation and Quality Assurance role deserved his undivided talent and energy. Thus, we have promoted Marc to become our first Director of Evaluation and Quality Assurance.
In that role, he is responsible for developing sytematice company wide procedures for collecting analyzing and dissemintating outcomes data. He will be working with our management team to develop consistent quality assurance protocols. As JusticeWorks continues to expand, consistency becomes more challenging and of extreme importance.
We hope that Marc will also become involved in joint ventures with Universities and other research instituitions to assist us in evaluating program effectiveness and perhaps develop research projects or consult with other organizations.
Marc’s experience and expertise makes him the perfect fit for this role. He has a Masters in Social Work (and is Licensed) and is an ‘all but dissertation’ candidate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Administration & Leadership Studies. He has served on the Pennsylvania Advisory Board for the implementation of the ‘Standardized Program Evaluation Protocol’, the Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy’s Stage 4 Data Workgroup, and the Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy’s Provider Workgroup. In addition to contributing to these professional committees, Marc is a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Network for Social Management, and the International Leadership Association.
We know that Marc will provide JusticeWorks with the leadership and guidance to assure our continued high quality service, document our outcomes, catalyze program development and keep us growing!
