Lycoming County Juvenile Probation has selected JusticeWorks to provide our signature Violation Initiative Program (VIP) ® aimed at mitigating the likelihood of out of home care placement like long term residential and detention/incarceration, for the youth in their community.
JusticeWorks is encouraged by the enthusiasm conveyed by various Lycoming County stakeholders; especially representatives from the courts, including Lycoming County Judges and staff from the juvenile probation department. The Lycoming County Commissioners have expressed excitement regarding the implementation of our value added services and believe these services will be a valuable resource for juveniles (and their families) in the Lycoming County community.
As part of our recruitment efforts, JusticeWorks collaborated with the Pennsylvania College of Technology, a local institution providing rigorous academic and technical training to many Lycoming County residents. JusticeWorks hopes to continue collaborating with Penn College whether through the provision of local internship/externship opportunities or applied research.
We would like to welcome Ian Nutt. Ian is our newest program director. He will be responsible for the day to day operation of all programs in Lycoming County.
JusticeWorks appreciates the support and trust put in us by Lycoming County; and, looks forward to building a strong partnership to serve the youth and families of the community.
In addition to the Violation Initiative Program, Lycoming County Juvenile Probation is interested in developing a Day Treatment Program for youth. Services are slated to begin in early March, 2015.
