We continue to incorporate new techniques and curricula to give our staff enhanced tools to be effective and our customers improved outcomes. These programs are incorporated into our existing programs or can be provided as stand-alone services.
- Thinking for a Change, developed by Bush, Glick & Taymans. Widely used in corrections and community based providers to teach cognitive restructuring, social skills development and conflict resolution. Features Pre & Post Testing to demonstrate youth’s adoption of discrete skills. Several of our Juvenile Probation Offices have asked us to provide this program in group and individual lessons.
- Nurturing Parenting, developed by Bavokek & Keene, is a proven curriculum to prevent child abuse and neglect. Its long-term goals are to prevent recidivism in families receiving social services; lower teen pregnancies; reduce juvenile delinquency & substance abuse and stop the cycle of intergenerational child abuse.
Nurturing Parenting is taught in home or group class settings and features Pre & Post Testing, Parenting Inventory and a Nurturing Skills Competency Scale.
Washington County Office of Children & Youth Services has contracted with JusticeWorks to provide this effective program and we planning to implement in other counties we are working with.
